EAGLES Extension Program
Bundaberg North SHS's EAGLES Extension Program is a school-based program designed to meet the needs of our high performing students in Years 7-10. Each core subject provides extension of curriculum content in a challenging and engaging learning environment, with a focus on academic achievement and preparing students for future academic pathways.
Subjects
EAGLES classes provide a differentiated curriculum in English, Humanities, Mathematics and Science .
Years 7 - 9 EAGLES students will be in the same class groups for English / Humanities, and Mathematics/ Science . However, in Year 10, class groups will be in each individual core subject.
Students will experience elective subjects alongside their peers thus developing skills across the Arts and Technology fields in addition to their academic skills via this program.
Expectations
Students in EAGLES will move though the Australian Curriculum at a faster pace then their peers. To facilitate this, they will have more homework than other classes in order to consolidate their learning and allow for progression to extension topics within each unit.
Access to a laptop is also desirable but is not a prohibiting factor in securing a position in the program.
Review and Monitoring
Students are invited to join the EAGLES Extension Program based on academic excellence. For Year 6 students, a parent application will put forward students for consideration in the Year 7 cohort.
Participation is reviewed each semester, with teachers closely monitoring student progress to ensure they continue to meet the program's high standards.
